Is there no max supply of ETH?

Excuse me, could you please clarify something for me? I've been reading up on Ethereum and its native cryptocurrency, ETH, and I'm a bit confused about the supply. I understand that Bitcoin, for example, has a finite supply that will eventually be reached. But is there no maximum supply limit set for ETH? If so, how does that affect the value and stability of the currency in the long run? I'd appreciate any insights you could provide on this matter.
