Can CLV change over time?

I understand that CLV, or customer lifetime value, is a metric that businesses use to estimate the net profit they can expect from a customer over the course of their relationship. But given that factors like customer behavior, market conditions, and product offerings can all change over time, I'm curious: Can CLV change over time as well? And if so, how does a business account for these potential fluctuations in their calculations and strategies?
