Is it OK that I didn't go to prom?

Hey there, I'm curious about something. I know that prom is a big deal for a lot of people, especially in high school. But, what if someone didn't go? Is it really a big deal? Is it okay to have missed out on that experience? I mean, there are so many other things to focus on in life, right? So, what's your take on it? Is it truly necessary to attend prom, or is it just a social norm that we've grown accustomed to?
