Should I bounce in 16 or 24 bit?

I'm wondering, when it comes to bouncing my tracks, should I go for the 16-bit option or opt for the 24-bit version? I understand that 24-bit offers more dynamic range and precision, but I'm also concerned about potential compatibility issues and file size. What do you think?
