Can you live on Bora Bora?

I'm curious, can you really live on Bora Bora? It's such a stunning island paradise with crystal clear waters and lush greenery, but I've heard it's incredibly expensive and not necessarily the most practical place to call home. Is it feasible to make a life there, or is it more of a vacation destination?
