Does laying on bed do anything in ARK?

Hey there, I'm curious about something related to the game ARK. Can you tell me, does simply laying on a bed in the game actually accomplish anything? Does it have any benefits or effects on the player's character, or is it just a cosmetic feature? I'm just trying to figure out if there's any strategic value to spending time resting on a bed in ARK. Thanks for your help!
