Is Venom 2 better than 1?

I've been hearing a lot of buzz about Venom 2 lately, and I'm curious to know if it really is better than the first one. As someone who enjoyed the original, I'm wondering if the sequel managed to improve upon the storytelling, character development, and overall action sequences. Did the filmmakers take feedback from the first movie into account, or did they simply try to recreate the same formula? I'm also curious about the performances from the cast, especially Tom Hardy's take on the title character. So, is Venom 2 really worth my time and money, or should I stick with the original?
