Where not to put a gun safe?

As a crypto and finance professional, I often have to consider security measures for my digital assets, but I'm also curious about physical security. Regarding gun safes, I'm wondering, where should one avoid placing them for maximum safety? Is it advisable to keep a gun safe in a basement prone to flooding? Or perhaps a garage that's easily accessible by intruders? What about a bedroom closet where children could potentially stumble upon it? And what about the attic, where extreme temperatures could damage the contents? I'm sure there are plenty of other unsuitable locations, so I'd like to hear your thoughts on where not to put a gun safe.
