Why is AirDrop failing?

Could you possibly explain to me why AirDrop is consistently failing? I've been trying to send files wirelessly between my devices, but it seems to be constantly malfunctioning. Is there a specific reason behind this issue? Maybe it's a problem with my device settings, or could it be due to the software version?
