Are cosmos easy to grow?

I've been considering adding some variety to my garden, and cosmos flowers have caught my eye. But I'm not sure if they're going to be a challenge or a breeze to cultivate. Are cosmos easy to grow, or do they require a lot of attention and care? I'm not a pro at gardening, so I'm looking for plants that are relatively low-maintenance.
