Is it safe to stake ETH?

I've been hearing a lot about staking ETH these days, but I'm still not quite sure about it. I mean, it sounds like a great way to earn passive income on my crypto holdings, but I'm also aware of the risks involved in this space. So, my question is, is it really safe to stake ETH? What kind of risks am I potentially facing? And are there any specific steps I should take to minimize those risks? I'd really appreciate some expert advice on this matter.
