Can you see who owns an NFT?

Excuse me, I've been reading a lot about NFTs recently and there's something that's been bugging me. Could you possibly enlighten me on this matter? Is it possible to trace or determine who owns a specific NFT? I understand that NFTs are unique digital assets, but surely there must be some way to identify their rightful owners, right? I'm just curious about the privacy implications and security measures involved in this process. Could you possibly shed some light on this for me?
