Is TRON based on Ethereum?

I'm curious to know if TRON is actually based on Ethereum? The reason I ask is because I've been hearing a lot about both platforms in the cryptocurrency world, and I'm trying to understand the relationship between them. Ethereum, as I understand, is a popular blockchain platform that enables the development of smart contracts and decentralized applications. TRON, on the other hand, seems to be making some big waves in the cryptosphere with its focus on content sharing and entertainment. So, is there a technological link between these two projects?
