Can we convert USDC to USDT?

Could you please clarify something for me? I've been looking into cryptocurrency conversions, and I'm wondering if it's possible to convert USDC to USDT. I'm aware that both are stablecoins pegged to the US dollar, but I'm not sure if they're interchangeable. I've searched online but haven't found a clear answer.
