Is Solana better than Avax?

I've been following the cryptocurrency market for quite some time, and lately I've been hearing a lot about Solana and Avalanche. But I'm still not sure which one is better. Could you help me understand the differences between them? I've heard Solana boasts impressive scalability and transaction speeds, while Avalanche seems to have a strong focus on decentralization. Is Solana's scalability enough to outweigh Avalanche's decentralization? Or does Avalanche offer something else that Solana lacks? I'm really torn between the two and would appreciate your insights.
