Why are people against XRP?

Could you explain why there's so much negativity surrounding XRP? I've noticed a lot of people seem to have strong opinions against it, but I'm not entirely sure why. Is it because of its association with Ripple, the company that created it? Or is it because of something else? I'm just trying to understand the reasons behind this opposition so I can make a more informed decision about whether or not to invest in XRP. Could you please enlighten me?
