Strategy disclosed that it neither bought nor sold Bitcoin between September 1 and 7, leaving its holdings unchanged at 845,050 BTC. Over the same period, the company spent approximately $176 million repurchasing STRC preferred stock and increased the size of the related buyback program from $1 billion to $2 billion.
2. Strive Buys Another 1,375 BTC, Lifting Total Holdings to 24,531
Strive disclosed that it purchased 1,375 BTC for approximately $109 million last week at an average price of $79,281, raising its total holdings to 24,531 BTC. The nominal amount of its SATA perpetual preferred stock outstanding also approached $1 billion.
3. BitMine Adds 28,086 ETH in One Week, Total Holdings Near 6 Million
BitMine added 28,086 ETH, bringing its total holdings to 5,929,198 ETH, equivalent to around 4.9% of Ethereum’s total supply and worth approximately $14.8 billion at current prices. About 5.07 million ETH of its holdings have been staked.
4. Visa Stablecoin Settlement Run Rate Tops $20 Billion, Up More Than 15-Fold Year-on-Year
Visa said the annualized run rate of its stablecoin settlement volume has exceeded $20 billion, more than 15 times higher year-on-year. Expansion in stablecoin-linked cards and cross-border settlement projects is driving significantly greater use of on-chain dollar settlement across traditional payment networks.
5. All Three Major US Indexes Fall as Dow Drops 628 Points
On September 8, the Dow fell 628.18 points to 52,786.07, down 1.18%. The S&P 500 declined 0.58% to 7,673.52, while the Nasdaq fell 0.32% to 26,421.41. Oil prices approaching $100 renewed concerns over inflation and interest rates.
6. Philadelphia Semiconductor Index Rises 1.3% Against Broader Market as Intel Surges 9.05%
Technology stocks showed sharp divergence. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index gained 1.30%, while Intel surged 9.05%, AMD rose 5.90%, Seagate climbed 6.49%, and Broadcom advanced 2.98%. Continued demand for AI hardware helped chip stocks outperform the broader market.
7. Apple Falls 1.2% as Markets Await Product Launch Event
Apple shares fell around 1.2% as investors awaited the company’s fall product event. Markets expect Apple could unveil products including its first foldable iPhone, marking the first major product launch since John Ternus became CEO.
8. Qualcomm and AWS Sign AI Data Center Partnership with Potential Business Worth Up to $60 Billion
Qualcomm announced a multi-generation data center infrastructure partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS). The companies will jointly develop custom chips for AI inference and advance high-speed optical interconnect technology capable of up to 1.6 Tbps. Qualcomm shares rose more than 7% intraday before closing around 3.2% higher.
9. Brent Crude Briefly Tops $99, Moves Within Reach of $100
Brent crude climbed as high as around $99.46 per barrel intraday before settling at $97.92, while WTI closed at $93.03. Attacks on Middle East energy infrastructure and continued disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz pushed oil prices to roughly six-week highs.
10. US Accuses DeepSeek, Alibaba and Four Other Chinese AI Firms of “Industrial-Scale” Distillation
The US government said six Chinese companies, including DeepSeek, Moonshot AI and Alibaba, used outputs from US AI models for large-scale distillation involving models from companies including OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. The allegations come ahead of a planned meeting between US and Chinese leaders later this month.
