Spiral lead Steve Lee stated that donors and community members are concerned that the Core project has neither adequately defended against AI cyber threats nor effectively utilized AI to assist in code review, testing, and troubleshooting. This month, over 5,200 Bitcoin addresses have been hacked, with losses exceeding 1,800 BTC; hackers reportedly used Kimi K3 to discover a vulnerability in the Coldcard wallet, and the CLN client also urgently patched critical vulnerabilities due to a surge in AI-generated reports.
