What is Litecoin (LTC)?
Litecoin (LTC) is a cryptocurrency that was created from a fork of the Bitcoin blockchain. It was established by former Google engineer Charlie Lee in 2011. Litecoin was initially designed to address Lee’s concerns about the growing centralization of Bitcoin and to enable faster transactions at reduced cost. It has since evolved into a peer-to-peer payment system.
Understanding Litecoin Mining
While you can participate in the Litecoin network using a personal computer, there is little benefit other than satisfaction unless you join a mining pool. Even then, your rewards will be very small because pools pay out based on the amount of work your miner contributes.
